JUNIOR TENNIS SCHOOL

Group activities are important for kids to socialise, learn whilst having fun and challenge each other in a safe and supportive sporting environment.

OnCourt Tennis Junior Tennis School runs throughout the year, coinciding with school terms. Classes are scheduled Monday to Friday between 3.30pm and 5.30pm, with group allocations confirmed closer to the program start date.
It is structured for children aged 4-16.  Kids play weekly for a 45 minute or 60 minute sessions in small groups, selected by age and ability, using different grade of balls and court sizes.

Red ball (Aged 4-6)
45 minute initiation classes played on half court (mini tennis).

Orange Ball (Aged 7-8)
60 minute sessions played on 3/4 court.

Green and Yellow Ball (9+)
60 minute sessions played on full court for more experienced juniors.

Each lesson starts with 5-10 minutes of fitness exercises, adapted to age and ability.  Lessons are structured to include technical workouts, tennis drills and exercises, games and points.  OnCourt Tennis will help students gain a solid technical base and a better understanding of the game, working on movement, balance, strength and power.  Whether it be on or off court we promote respect, fair play and good sportsmanship.

Our most advanced juniors are part of the OnCourt Tennis Team Competition.  These students have the opportunity to advance their game through specific and professional training and compete in the tournaments of the WA Junior Tour, and main National Events.

Equipment

Students are required to have their own tennis racquet, only tennis shoes or white sole non-marking shoes are accepted on the courts and water bottle.

Over the past three years, with a rare exception, including periods where memberships were shared with other clubs in the region, absolutely all juniors representing the Lower Great Southern, competing in Perth and at national level, individually or as a representative of the WA State Team, received their coaching at OnCourt Tennis.

In 2025, at the inaugural Regional National Country Cup, the WA Country Team 1 was made up entirely of players trained through OnCourt Tennis.
